This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Ecologist, who will work as an integral member of a project team on a large scale forestry project of national significance. You can be based in Cork, Kilkenny or Dublin (also with the option to work from home).

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • A degree in ecology or related subject
  • A minimum of seven years post graduate experience
  • Experience working in environmental consultancy, desirable but not required
  • Member of CIEEM, CIWEM or equivalent professional body, desirable 
  • Detailed knowledge of Appropriate Assessment legislation within Ireland
  • Knowledge of the forestry sector advantageous 
  • Experience of project management and client management required  
  • Line management experience desirable 
  • Excellent technical report writing skills
  • Experienced in working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills  
  • A full clean driver’s licence


Responsibilities, (amongst other things) include:

  • Undertaking Appropriate Assessments and other environmental reporting requirements
  • Writing of technical reports and other deliverables
  • Managing quality including attention to detail and accuracy, delivery of contracts on time and to the highest possible standards, and continue to strive to improve the quality of work produced. 
  • Developing an excellent relationship and attending meetings with client
