Our Projects Team has a strong track record of delivering bespoke, high quality urban tree planting, landscape and Edible Playgrounds projects. We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Landscape Architect / Designer and project manager to lead the team.

The Projects Director will provide overall direction and leadership to Trees for Cities’ Projects Team to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest of standards and as efficiently and effectively as possible.  The Projects Director will be a member of Trees for Cities’ Senior Management Team and will contribute significantly to the strategic, tactical and operational development of the organisation, placing a particular focus on developing the organisation’s capacity to align with and be successful in tendering for commercial opportunities (prior experience in the commercial sector is therefore highly desirable).

Who we are

Trees for Cities is the only charity working on an international scale to create greener cities. Since 1993, we have engaged over 75,000 people to plant over 700,000 urban trees in parks, streets, schools and housing estates across the UK, as well as internationally, revitalising these areas and improving the lives of the people who live in them. We strengthen communities through volunteering opportunities and inspire children to grow and eat good food and to connect with nature.

What we want

• A first-rate project manager who can manage a growing team and a large portfolio of projects, ensuring systems and processes are as effective and efficient as possible.
• An experienced landscape architect/designer who can ensure that our projects continue to be delivered to the highest of standards and who can develop new green infrastructure project/programme opportunities particularly in the commercial sector.
• A natural strategist who can help develop the wider organisational strategy and direction.
• A strong and respected manager and team member with the ability to communicate effectively within the team, across the charity and externally building excellent relationships with project partners.
• An ambitious individual who wants to play leading role in developing and growing an organisation.
