To programme manage the NRW Brexit Programme to understand the scope and scale of change to the organisations’ roles, responsibilities and outcomes resulting from Brexit. Develop options for day one readiness and transition that; supports our purpose to deliver SMNR, the outcomes defined in the Natural Resources Policy and SoNaRR and is in line with our regulatory principles,

The Brexit Programme Manager will be responsible for:

• Programme Manage our programme; producing all necessary documentation; maintaining the programme from start-up and development through to implementation and beyond to BAU status;
• Proactively engaging and supporting the CEO, Directors and other senior managers in delivering the day one readiness and transition.
• Support the Programme Management Board to manage each project workstream (around 20) to ensure delivery. 
• Manage the business of the weekly Project Manager Group meetings.
• Ensure technical support on; policy, finance, legal, continuous improvement, as well as communications is available to support the Brexit Programme.
• Administer processes for governance, assurance, risks and issues management.
• Assurance of standards within the programme and underpinning workstream projects.
• Assessing and reporting on progress to the NRM Business Board and ET and other senior managers.
• Ensuring a good flow of information to the Communications team to support the management of change with stakeholders.
• Work closely with ICT to ensure their response to the developing programme delivers its business outcomes.
• Develop and maintain a programme level benefit register ensuring benefits are realised. Develop and maintain the programme risk register ensuring risks are treated or escalated as appropriate.

This role is responsible to the SMNR Programme Manager who has the strategic role of leading our Brexit Programme, in line with the requirements of the Programme Board. The Programme Manager will lead a team of project managers and support staff. 

You will have a strong programme management background, be an excellent  communicator and influencer who, as a  team player, combines relevant technical expertise with effective interpersonal skills.  

You’ll also possess proven ability in the following areas:

• Developing and managing complex programmes or projects and task and finish activities. (E)
• Excellent budget and resource management skills and experience. (E) 
• Be qualified and/or have extensive experience of Agile or PRINCE2 for project management and MSP for programme management. (E)
• The ability to distil complex and challenging information and processes as well as excellent communication and inter-personal skills. (E) 
• Able to work at pace and with a track record of delivery. (E) 

You will be required to undertake occasional (averaging around 4 times a month) travel between NRW offices and those of key stakeholders (both across Wales and potentially in elsewhere in the UK), in line with relevant NRW policies.
