• Grade & Salary: 6 - £33,424.00 rising to £36,559.00 over four years

Role Purpose

To lead on work to facilitate achieving sustainable management of bait digging at the Gann, Pembrokeshire.  You will lead the coordination of the work on this topic, which will include identifying and appraising the existing evidence and identifying gaps, liaison with a range of departments within NRW, including marine specialist advisors, enforcement and legal and further analysis and collecting of data likely to include visitor use information, where required.  

The role will bring together technical experts from a number of areas within NRW to facilitate the development of this work. The role will also involve significant engagement with external stakeholders, including Welsh Government.

Qualifications and Skills

• Substantial marine or other relevant technical skills and experience.

• Significant knowledge of marine legislative requirements particularly marine conservation.

• Good knowledge and experience of marine or other relevant monitoring and analysis methods.

• Experience of technical analysis and interpreting a range of environmental information and data.

• Good evidence analysis and interpretation skills, report critiquing and writing skills.

• Good understanding of the marine and coastal development sector.

• Strong Influencing skills and ability to communicate, negotiate and collaborate effectively both internally and externally at senior levels.
