RWE Renewables in Ireland
RWE Renewables ranks among the largest global players in power generation from renewable energies, with a total installed generation capacity of 9 gigawatts and an additional 2.6 gigawatts under construction. Our technology portfolio covers onshore and offshore wind, utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar power and energy storage. Our 3,600 renewables experts develop, build and operate large renewable energy assets in 15 countries in Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific.
Our goal is to rapidly expand the use of renewable energies with technologies that address the concerns about energy security, energy affordability, and climate change.
Ireland is an important new market for RWE Renewables. We are currently undertaking long-term investment into onshore wind, offshore wind and new battery storage projects, which could run into many €billions of direct foreign investment. RWE’s objective for Ireland is to grow an organic development business from greenfield sites, where we will be a long-term energy partner for Ireland during its energy transition to 2030 and beyond.
In line with our growth ambitions, we are aiming to further expand our portfolio in Ireland and we are actively seeking new opportunities.
