ABOUT USWe champion wildlife and natural places everywhere in Sussex and inspire people to take action for nature.
We want our Sussex to be a home for nature's recovery. A place where people and wildlife can thrive together, where people can enjoy nature and the health and wellbeing benefits it provides.
We believe that nature is too important to lose
We are a conservation charity for everyone who cares about nature in Sussex. We focus on protecting the wonderfully rich natural life that is found across our towns, countryside and coast.
By working alongside local people we create opportunities for us all to connect with nature, and for nature to thrive in even the most unlikely places. Together we can make sure that future generations living in Sussex will be able to enjoy the sense of wonder and well-being that nature offers.
Together we can make Sussex life richer.
Part of a nationwide network
Sussex Wildlife Trust also part of a wider national movement of 46 other individual Wildlife Trusts that cover the whole of the UK and the Isle of Man and Alderney. The Sussex Wildlife Trust was formed in 1961, and is now the largest local organisation dedicated to protecting the wildlife and natural environment across Sussex.
WORK FOR US
To deliver our new strategic plan – Our Wild Sussex – we need bold and innovative people who will enable us to achieve our ambitions for local wildlife and wild places.
We are committed to restoring and protecting at least 30% of Sussex land and sea for nature, inspiring one in four people to take meaningful action for wildlife, building a stronger more inclusive and diverse organisation and becoming a net zero and climate resilient organisation.
We are looking for the best and most talented people to join our team and help us deliver this exciting and ambitious strategy. We are keen to hear from you even if you don't have all the skills and experience outlined in the Job Description but have the potential to grow into a role.
So, if you are someone who is determined to see a Sussex rich in wildlife and you have drive, energy and commitment to our values of Innovation, Passion, Collaboration and Inclusion why not apply now to join our great team, working together to deliver Our Wild Sussex.
We are in the process of looking for a new office location to replace our Woods Mill offices in the coastal strip from the wider Brighton & Hove area to Worthing or near a mainline railway station as far north as Haywards Heath. We are prioritising proximity to public transport (buses and trains), access to greenspace and accessibility for everyone.
