A leading Irish-owned consultancy specializing in Environmental Science, Civil Infrastructure, Waste & Resource Management, and Energy and Planning is looking for a Principal Environmental Scientist to join their team and work closely with fellow professionals to aid the expansion of their environmental business.
As the Principal Environmental Scientist, you will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of areas within the environmental sectors, including but not limited to, planning and EIAR, waste management, infrastructure development, waste licensing and permits, industrial emissions licensing, and environmental due diligence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a project team reporting to a Director
- Project management of Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessments, Appropriate Assessments, planning application documentation and other environmental reports
- Provide expert environmental technical assistance to the business
- Actively participate in the delivery of business development initiatives
- Manage the implementation of regulatory approvals
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in a relevant environmental discipline
- Minimum of 12-15 years post-graduate experience in an environmental position
- Chartered status in relevant discipline
- Excellent knowledge of planning, environmental and waste management legislation
- Proven track record in project management and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports, planning and licence/permit applications for a wide range of projects
- Team and client management experience essential
- Excellent attention to detail
- Flexible and a good team player
- Excellent report writing and technical reviewing skills
- Experience of engaging with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies and sub-contractors
- Full driver's license
